Pat and Emmitt Smith Charities Celebrity Invitational Kick-Off

Last night Ryan and I had a chance to attend the Pat and Emmitt Smith Charities Kick-Off event. The Smiths host an incredible celebrity-filled weekend every year to raise money for their foundation. Folks come in from all over the country to golf and attend one of the best annual galas in Texas. They made some exciting announcements last night! Larry Fitzgerald will be receiving the Roger Staubach Award. Named for the legendary Dallas Cowboys quarterback and real estate icon, this award recognizes sports and/or entertainment professionals who positively impact the lives of children by living courageously and creating opportunities for today's youth. This is the only award to be named in Staubach's honor other than the one established at his alma mater, the U.S. Naval Academy.

Larry Fitzgerald's foundation, The Larry Fitzgerald First Down Fund, gives significant gifts – in time, money and resources - to numerous organizations across the country. The Larry Fitzgerald First Down Fund was established by Larry Fitzgerald Jr. to help kids and their families by funding positive activities for kids during the summer and throughout the year, supporting kids and families in crisis, and supporting health-related organizations that work with families. Can't wait to see him in Dallas!

More exciting information was released last night. Dallas's own Faye C. Briggs was announced as the honorary chair. This is one of my favorite events of the year - you don't want to miss it!

Check out the Smith's foundation to see all of the wonderful events coming up and to find out how you can help! http://www.emmittsmith.com/pat-and-emmitt-smith-charities
